Japan-Bulgaria Economic Seminar Takes Place in Tokyo

    On September 20th, 2019, a Japan-Bulgaria Economic Seminar was held at Tokai University in Tokyo. The event was co-organised by the Bulgarian Embassy in Japan and the Japan-Bulgaria Foundation. This seminar is one of the events celebrating this year’s triple anniversary in Japan-Bulgaria relations.
 
    The event was opened with greeting addresses by Mr. Toshimitsu Motegi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, and Mr. Borislav Kostov, Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Japan.
 
    On the Bulgarian side, presentations were delivered during the seminar by Ms. Liliya Ivanova, Deputy Minister of Economy, Dr. Boyko Takov, Executive Director of the Bulgarian SME Promotion Agency, etc. The current trends in the Bulgarian economy, recent progress in the IT sector and the automotive industry, as well as government support to foreign investors were among the topics discussed by these speakers.
 
    Furthermore, several Japanese companies operating in Bulgaria - Zen-noh Foods /Japan Agri Products Europe/, Sumitomo Corporation /Moto-Pfohe/, as well as SEGA Games /SEGA Creative Assembly/ - talked about why they chose Bulgaria as a place to do business, presented their current business activities and shared their views on Bulgaria’s potential.
