The Embassy of Japan in Bulgaria is currently looking for candidates for the following position.
I. Job Specifications
1. Position name: Economic staff
2. Working place: Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Bulgaria, 14 Lyulyakova gradina Str., Sofia.
3. Working hours: Monday to Friday, from 8:30 to 17:15
4. Salary, social security, etc. are regulated by Embassy guidelines
5. Planned starting date: April 16th, 2024
6. Application deadline: February 22th, 2024

III. Requirement to the candidates
1. A relevant degree (such as social sciences/international relations/business/humanities)
*Experience leading to an understanding of economic processes in Bulgaria is preferable
2. Bulgarian Nationality and living in Sofia or suburban Sofia
3. Fluency in English (reading/writing/speaking/comprehension)
4. Native speaker of Bulgarian language
5. Good research skills and attention to detail
6. Interest in Japan-Bulgaria economic relations, Bulgarian business and economic affairs
7. Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
8. Very good communication/interpersonal skills and writing skills
9. Strong organizational and time management skills

II.Job and role
- Economic Staff to be involved in the day-to-day operations of the Economic Section, which is responsible for promoting the development of bilateral economic relations and researching trade and investment opportunities.
- Tracking topics pertaining to economy, trade, energy, infrastructure, and others; researching, systematizing and reporting information on various topics of interest;
- Performing day-to-day coordination, logistics, administrative support and organizational tasks; organizing schedules; handling internal files and contact databases; maintaining relationships with external stakeholders;
- Contributing to internal reports & preparing responses to business inquiries whenever assigned;
- Assistance in preparing and organizing events whenever assigned;
- Providing support with researching business statistics;
- Working on diverse assignments as instructed by senior staff.
- The role will normally include, but will not be limited to, the following tasks, subject to supervision by the Head of Section:
