The Embassy of Japan in Bulgaria is currently looking for candidates for the following position.
 
I.  Job Specifications

1. Number of candidates: 1
2. Position: Consular Affairs (Local Staff at the Consular Section)
3. Working place: Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Bulgaria(14 Lyulyakova gradina Str., 1113 Sofia)
4. Working hours: Monday to Friday, from 8:30 to 17:15
5. Salary, social security, etc. are regulated by Embassy guidelines
6. Planned starting date: August, 2024 ※Will be decided after discussion(with trial period of six months)
7. Application deadline: July 12, 2024 (Friday)

 
II．Job and role

1. Customer service at the consular counter
2. Handling phone calls and e-mails regarding various inquiries about Japan (visas, visiting Japan, staying in Japan)
3. Examination and issuance of certificates, passports, and various notifications to Japanese nationals
4. Information sharing, management, and various liaison services for Japanese residents in Bulgaria.
5. Mutual translation tasks between Bulgarian, English and Japanese
6. Working on diverse assignments as instructed by senior staff.
7. The role will normally include, but will not be limited to, the above tasks, subject to supervision by the Head of Section

 
III． Requirement to the candidates

1. Proficiency in Japanese, English and Bulgarian
2. Bulgarian nationality or permanent residence in the Republic of Bulgaria
3. Educational background (junior college graduate or above)
4. Confidence in working with computers (Windows, Microsoft operating systems)
5. Currently living in Bulgaria
6. Being motivated, flexible, and being able to multi-task
