奈良平博史大使着任のご挨拶

この度、駐ブルガリア日本国大使として、当地に着任しました奈良平 博史(ならひら ひろし)と申します。8月24日にラデフ大統領に信任状を奉呈し、本格的に公務を開始しました。昨年は、交流開始110年等の3つの周年事業が行われ、日本とブルガリア両国にとって記念すべき年でしたが、その良き流れを維持、さらに強化していけるよう努力していきたいと思いますので、よろしくお願いいたします。
先ず、新型コロナウイルスの世界的感染拡大のため、皆様におかれましては、心休まらぬ日々をおくられていることと存じます。在留邦人や日本からの旅行者の皆様のご健康と安全をお守りすること、また日系企業が良好かつ安全な環境の下でご活躍頂けるようご支援申し上げることが大使館の最重要業務であり、大使館職員一同、全力で取り組んで参ります。
新型コロナウイルスへの対応が最優先ですが、以下の課題にも取り組んでいきたいと考えています。
経済関係につきましては、日系企業の皆様に、投資やブルガリア企業との連携に さらに大きなご関心を持って頂けるよう、情報発信や環境整備に努め、ブルガリアの優秀な人材がブルガリアで就職することにより、ブルガリア経済も日系企業もともに発展していけるような状況に一歩でも近づけるように取り組んでいきたいと考えています。
特に、観光につきましては、大きな潜在力のある分野であり、日本・ブルガリアの双方向での観光が発展するように取り組んでいきたいと思います。両国ともに四季があり、多様な国土、自然、歴史、世界遺産などがあり、十分に知られない魅力あるデスティネーションであるため、その魅力を双方向で発信し、観光客の増加に結びつけていきたいと考えています。現在進みつつある両国の地方都市間の友好関係の構築促進につきましてもご支援していきたいと思います。
さらに両国の優れた科学技術の連携は、両国の結びつきを強めるのみならず、両国の将来の経済的基盤を強化していくこととなるため、その連携促進を図っていきたいと思います。
また、日本文化の普及につきましても、日本の伝統芸能、スポーツ、武道、音楽、映画、アニメ、ポップカルチャー等を、日本文化月間等を通じてご紹介し、日本をより知って頂けるよう努力していきたいと思います。特に、当地でも人気の高まる日本食につきましては、本物の日本食をできるだけ多くのブルガリアの方々に楽しんで頂けるよう取り組んで参ります。ブルガリアワイン、日本ワイン、日本酒等の酒類や優れた農産品・農産加工品につきましてもその素晴らしさを両国の国民の皆様により知って頂けるよう取り組んで参りたいと思います。
ブルガリアは日本と自由、民主主義、人権、法の支配といった基本的価値を共有する伝統的な友好国です。ブルガリア政府が西バルカン地域等広域でお取り組みになっている政策なども含めまして、ブルガリア政府の政策に日本の知見を活かして頂けるよう協力関係を深めていきたいと考えています。

駐ブルガリア日本国特命全権大使 奈良平 博史
Greeting by Ambassador NARAHIRA Hiroshi
My name is Hiroshi Narahira, and I am here as Ambassador of Japan to Bulgaria. On August 24th, I presented credentials to President Radev and started to work in the Japanese embassy in earnest. Last year was memorable for Japan and Bulgaria, as we celebrated the triple anniversary in our bilateral relations, including 110 years since the beginning of our official bilateral contacts. In this regard, I would like to express my intention to make efforts to maintain and strengthen the relations that have been established so far.
First of all, I would like to note that the whole world is currently in a difficult situation due to the spread of the new coronavirus. Some of the most important tasks of the Embassy of Japan are to protect the health and safety of Japanese citizens - living or traveling in Bulgaria, as well as to support Japanese companies so that they can operate in a good and safe environment. To achieve these goals, all embassy staff will make the necessary efforts.
In the current situation, our priority is to deal with the new coronavirus, but I also plan to tackle the following tasks.
Regarding economic issues, I will strive to spread information and to improve conditions in order to increase the interest of Japanese companies in investment opportunities in Bulgaria and cooperation with Bulgarian companies. In this way, I hope that in Bulgaria an environment will be created in which, through the active participation of talented Bulgarian citizens in the local market, the Bulgarian economy and the Japanese business will develop together.
Tourism is one of the fields with the greatest potential and I intend to focus my efforts on the development of bilateral tourism between Japan and Bulgaria. Both our countries are known for having four seasons, fruitful lands, nature, history, World Heritage sites, as well as a number of charming but still not fully known destinations. That is why I would like to make every effort in the area of bilateral increase of tourist flow and to work for the continuous building of friendly relations between Bulgarian and Japanese cities.
In addition, I would like to promote the excellent scientific and technological cooperation, which will not only strengthen our ties, but also strengthen the future economic foundations of both countries.
Concerning the promotion of Japanese culture, I would like to present traditional Japanese performing arts, sports, martial arts, music, movies, anime, pop culture and more through the Days of Japanese Culture and other events, and I hope that my hard work in this field will contribute to a deeper understanding of Japan among the Bulgarian audience. In particular, in regard to Japanese food, which is becoming more and more famous here, I will focus on presenting the authentic Japanese cuisine, and I will be happy for as many Bulgarians as possible to enjoy it. I would also like to help the citizens of our two countries to get to know the excellent agricultural and finished products from Bulgaria and Japan, including quality alcoholic beverages such as Bulgarian and Japanese wine, sake, etc.
Bulgaria is a country with which we have traditional friendship and which shares with Japan fundamental values such as freedom, democracy, human rights and the rule of law. Also, in a broader aspect, for example in relation to the policies towards the region of the Western Balkans, we would like to deepen our cooperation with Bulgaria so that the knowledge and experience of Japan can be of benefit to the Bulgarian government.
We intend to communicate with you regularly and to be useful to you through the activities of the embassy. Thank you in advance for your support and cooperation!
